Khalid

From serving as a translator for four star American generals in Afghanistan to helping refugees from all over the world settle into the US just as he had, Khalid is a man to be admired. Born and raised in Afghanistan, he supported his family while translating for the US military, helping coordinate operations throughout the nation. When the Taliban took over, he and his family harrowingly fled Afghanistan, beginning a long and arduous journey to San Diego. Khalid embodies American drive, perseverance, and compassion as he works with the Alliance for African Assistance to help refugees settle in the US. Watch this interview to hear Khalid’s story.
