Sambour Sa

As an American born Cambodian-American raised by survivor’s of the Khmer Rouge, Sambour has a distinct identity paired with a unique perspective on life. Growing up, he experienced the effects of the Khmer Rouge in the Cambodian-American community, including its impact on the mental health of survivors and their children. Growing up, Sambour had to navigate trying to find his own identity and path while bearing the weight of the community’s pressures to succeed. As a survivor of suicide, Sambour Sa now uses his story to to help others as an activist for men’s mental health both within and outside the Cambodian community.
