Ben Midler

Born in Byalstak, Poland, in 1928, Ben has been a fighter all his life. After surviving six concentration camps, including Auschwitz-Birkenau, he began a life on his own, moving through Russia, fighting for Israel's independence, and eventually settling down in the United States. While living in Chicago, despite becoming a victim of the Holocaust at 11 years old and never receiving a proper education, he worked for a milk distribution company, helped manage a supermarket, and owned/ran an auto parts store for 20 years before settling down with his family in San Diego. After a life of unquantifiable hardship and brutality, Ben Midler lived the American Dream and embodies the nation's values to this day. Watch this video to hear Ben's Story.
